Mark 5:21-34 – A Life Restored

Mark 5:21-34 – A Life Restored

A. JESUS AUTHORITY OVER SICKNESS

I. Vss. 21-24: A Father pleading for healing of his daughter

II. Vss. 25-34: A woman is healed of a hemorrhage

Leviticus 12; 15:19-31

John 9:1-2 : And passing by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?

Luke 8:43:  And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone.

Numbers 15:38-40: Speak to the sons of Israel and command them that they make fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribbon of blue. And it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look upon it and remember all the commands of Jehovah, and do them; and so that you do not seek after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you prostitute yourself, that you
may remember and do all My commands, and be holy to your God.

One commentator said: “Augustine long ago said of this story, ‘Flesh presses, faith touches.’… He can always distinguish between the jostle of a curious mob, and the agonized touch of a needy soul
