JESUS AUTHORITY OVER DEATH
I. Vss. 35-36: Call to Faith with a Promise:
“The word of faith” (Verse 36)
Do not be afraid; only believe
I. Vss. 37-43: Jesus raises Jairus’ daughter from the dead
Mark 9:2: And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them.
Mar 14:32-33: And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled.
Deuteronomy 19:15: “A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established.
John 8:17: In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true.
1Thessalonians 4:13-18: But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve asothers do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus diedand rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him
those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with
the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Philippians 1:20-23: as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
Unbelief laughs at God’s Word; Faith experiences the power of God’s Word!
Talitha Cumi, which means “little girl, arise”, (Aramaic)
Romans 4:17: God gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.
